So what does a registered dietitian mean? Well, "dietitian" is a protected title and as such, dietitians like me are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). What this means for you is that you can be reassured of trusted advice because all dietitians are regulated and must adhere to a strict ethical and professional code of conduct. As a dietitian, I take the evidence and science around nutrition and translate this into sensible, practical advice.
I graduated from Queen Margaret University (formerly Queen Margaret College) in 1994, and almost 30 years experience as a dietitian, both in the NHS, in industry and as a freelance dietitian. I am passionate about improving employee health through delivering evidence based practical, fun and informative employee health and wellbeing sessions.
I am a mum to 2 boys, and currently I work part time within the NHS and as a freelance dietitian, having set up my own freelance consultancy Food and Nutrition Central a little over 10 years ago.
